I grew up by the water and have always felt deeply drawn to it. I’ve loved designing and creating for as long as I can remember. One day, after a series of chance encounters with a persistent blue heron at my neighborhood marina along the Chesapeake Bay, I began to feel a sense of peace and calm every time I saw it, and felt called to understand its meaning more deeply.

When I discovered the blue heron symbolizes strength, resilience, and self-reflection, I chose it as the foundation for a logo for jewelry I had been designing. Over time, I felt a deeper purpose emerge: to share the symbolism of the heron with other women, believing we all need these reminders through different chapters of our lives.

I took the wing from my blue heron logo and wrapped it around natural, hand-selected gemstones, each chosen for its beauty, energy, and meaning. This became my first Heron Wing pendant.

As I met women and began hearing their stories, and walked through my own journey with breast cancer, I was continually reminded of the power of resilience, reflection, and connection. It inspired me to create even more meaningful designs, pieces that honor our story, reflect our growth, and empower us to celebrate every step of our journey.
